Nearby Lake Siskiyou, a popular spot for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing also offers breath-taking views of Mount Shasta. Local activities include spiritual retreats, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, water-rafting and horseback riding. This motel is located close to the town center where you will able to find shopping, banks and cafes. We are also within walking distance to many restaurants.

Shasta Lake

Located 52 miles from Mount Shasta and surrounded by beautiful mountains and forests, Shasta Lake is known for it's first class fishing of trout, bass, and salmon. Taking advantage of it's extensive shoreline, Shasta Lake hosts a large number of houseboats and other water recreation vehicles. The nearby Shasta Caverns and Sundial Bridge are a must see when in the area.

Mount Shasta and the local surrounding area such as Lake Shastina and McCloud provide a variety of 9 and 18 hole courses for the golf enthusiast.


Whitewater Rafting, Fishing, Canoeing, and Kayaking

Besides being the origin of the upper Sacramento River, the area is surrounded by lakes, rivers and streams that provide the best rafting, canoeing and fishing in the area.  You will find a variety of outfits that offer the necessary rental equipment, tours and schools for any sport.  Those seeking great boating and swimming also favor the lakes.

Mossbrae Falls and McCloud Falls

The natural beauty of Mossbrae Falls awaits you after a short hike from the Shasta Retreat area in Dunsmuir, CA. The McCloud Falls have three levels: lower, middle, and upper. There is a picnic area and swimming hole at the Lower Falls. The hike between the levels is relatively easy, the hike from Middle to Upper falls only takes about five minutes! Each level is different but all are breathtakingly beautiful.
